Explosion-Proof Cold Storage for Hazardous Chemicals

Project Challenge

The client required a temperature-controlled storage room (4°C) for volatile chemical reagents. The primary challenge was to meet stringent safety standards for hazardous locations, including the use of explosion-proof electrical components and ensuring proper ventilation and leak detection.

Solution Provided

We constructed a cold room using fire-retardant insulation panels. All internal components, including the refrigeration unit, lighting, and sensors, were certified explosion-proof (ATEX rated). The system included a dedicated ventilation system for air exchange and an integrated gas leak detection system that automatically triggers an alarm and shuts down all electrical equipment in case of a leak.

Project Results

The facility fully complies with national hazardous material storage regulations. The client can now safely store their volatile chemicals with confidence, mitigating risks and ensuring a safe working environment for their staff.
